EMDR

EMDR stands for ´Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing´, and it is a method that is used to process and integrate information by stimulating both sides of the brain. It simulates the bilateral stimulation that happens automatically during REM sleep; so when we dream, we process the information that was received during the waking hours. However, sometimes our system gets overwhelmed by the intensity, speed or difficulty of the experiences and fails to process the information. This is when things get stuck in the bodymind, and EMDR can help us in this process of moving forward.

EMDR in coaching can be used in many ways:

- cope with stress

- process fears and blockages

- process grief, physical and emotional pain

- support changes in behaviour

- support personal development

- support mental and emotional balance

- improve overall health

Bilateral stimulation can be achieved by eye-movement, but also by tactile or auditory stimulation. We will use it to process the difficult experiences, but also to integrate your resources to increase your emotional, mental and physical well-being.
